The Program.

GENERAL AMERICAN ACCENT: ADVANCED PRACTICE

This course is designed for learners who want to continue their practice in the General American accent for acting, professional communication, or exam preparation. Students will build on the core pronunciation features of the General American accent, focusing more on connected speech, intonation, or any sounds that need extra practice. Students will practice these within natural and more advanced conversation scripts prepared by the tutor. Students are welcome to bring their own scripts as well.

WHO IS IT FOR:

This training is designed for everyone (beginners or professionals) who wants to master the skills of spoken and recorded voice.

COURSE OBJECTIVE:

This course aims to provide more advanced practice with the General American Accent.

THE TEACHER:

Lisa is a native speaker from the USA with over 15 years experience teaching English to students of all ages worldwide. She has taught both overseas and online, completing thousands of virtual classes, many of them focused on accent reduction and English pronunciation. Students often comment that she catches the subtlest details. Lisa holds multiple teaching certificates, including TESOL, TEYL, MoMA Museum Teaching Strategies, and IELTS Teacher Training.

COURSE STRUCTURE:

Students will build on the key features of the American Accent, while focusing more on connected speech and intonation. Lessons include resources, such as practice materials, curated lists, and audio recordings to help guide practice between classes.

The main topics covered are:

  • Targeted practice with challenging vowels or consonants
  • Review of features of connected speech
  • Intonation
  • Advanced dialogues

COST:

 € 294,00 for 6 lessons (50 minutes each).

WHERE DOES IT TAKE PLACE?

Online courses are held on Zoom or Google Meet.

WHAT YOU NEED:

PC or tablet + webcam + microphone.
